Lately, when I leave the house to walk around the city center (which is actually very rare nowadays considering student life has started up) I have been finding all these beautiful moments. A bit more than usual. :)

Sun in January

Welcome to Amsterdam 2014!

The weather has been good this January. Sunny days, cloudy days, not too cold, bits of rain….  Not too bad. I haven’t taken pictures around Amsterdam in a while so I decided that in the first few days of 2014 it was a nice time to get back into the habit – especially with all these clear skies and people out and about.

This was also the day that I encountered my name and advice referenced a few times in a book for new expats. I am so happy that I shared my experiences with them and that they actually published some of my tips about living in The Netherlands. Check out the book: Ready, steady, Go Dutch.

A Portuguese artist tours in Amsterdam

In the final weeks of October Flavio was in Amsterdam giving a small tour.

In 7 days he performed in 6 places.

I obviously took the advantage of taking pictures of some of his gigs.

Also, he recorded a live video at Vondelpark with Manon Planting.

Volunteering at Out of the Closet

Yesterday was my first time doing volunteer work.

Out of the closet, put up an ad on Facebook asking for some help.

I have bought a few shirts there once for a project so I knew the place and I knew the cause so I was excited when they were asking for assistance.

Yesterday there I was helping out. It was really nice. I really don’t know what else to say except that I enjoyed my first volunteering experience. :) 

But can you believe I was the ONLY person that volunteered. Which is kind of sad since Amsterdam is such a big city.

Last night when I got home with such a nice feeling I decided to share this experience on my blog and for that I need pictures! So I went back to the store today to get some clicks!

This afternoon my soul mate found the Polaroid below, it was a must buy! J

PS: For the people that dress mannequins you guys rock I spent more than I should even say on here trying to dress those things. hehehe
