Rolling Kitchen Festival

This year was our third year off to the Rolling Kitchen festival. (You can check last years post here)

Rolling Kitchens is probably my soul mates and I favorite food festival in Amsterdam.

There were so many “food trucks” this year; the festival has grown! Ah I love it!

Unfortunately, the weather didn’t help much, at least on the two days we went, but it was still relatively packed.

We went at 1pm – the time it opens to make sure there was enough space to click away!

If you haven’t been here yet it is a must go! However it ended today so it’s a must go for 2014 ;) Here are the clicks from this weekend!

Queens day @ Westerpark

This year was the last Queens day for probably a very very long time ;)

Last year my soul-mate and I learned our lesson on how packed the city center is so we went to the park this year.

I thought the park would be relatively packed but surprisingly it was emptier than on a regular weekend.

420 @ Westerpark

As most of you know today was 420 the well-known “weed day”.

Well I live in Amsterdam, so how does it work with a day for smoking weed when you can smoke weed every day? I had to investigate! So I went to the park; things were calm and no one was smoking. I went to Westerpark which is on the West side of Amsterdam. However, I do hear that at Vondelpark, they celebrate this day. But at the park I was at people enjoyed the sun instead.

Manon Planting @ Waterstones

For the people that read my blog and also know me outside of the web you probably have heard of Manon Planting. 

A new video of her will be out soon soon!

My soul-mate usually makes the magic: recording, editing, filming... This time, due to his job, I had to do the filming for her new video. With my soul-mates hand-made....steadicam!

Of course I couldn't resist some still shots of her so here are the pictures I took.

Sinterklaas in the Dam

Sinterklaas came to Amsterdam today it was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G

It was the first time I actually got to see his arrival.

So many anxious young faces dressed as the iconic Zwart Piet and so many red flags waving!

I loved seeing the little ones giving their drawing and letters to Zwart Piet so Sinterklaas could see them later on.

Sinterklaas shook my soul mates hand while I was snapping away pictures I am so jealous. Hehe.

I tried to capture as many pictures as I could on this festive day but for the people who know Zwart Piet you know they never stay put so it was really hard.

Also due to my shortness my soul mate had to hold me up or we had to find a curb for me to stand on. Hehe.

But it is truly a magical experience.  I walked around and got to see him three times which I still think for ME wasn't enough ;)

Holland has something very special going on during this holiday… It’s probably one of the least materialistic Christmases I know. YOU GO HOLLAND!
